We are having...

...a boy!!

We are very excited to finally know what we are having. We would have been happy with either a boy or girl, so no disappointments! But it's great because there hasn't been a baby boy born in either of our families for a long time. Lots of girls so finally a boy gets to be added to the mix!

My appointment on Wednesday was good. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat finally and it was so cool.

Then my ultrasound was scheduled for late Friday afternoon, so Sujeet could just leave work a couple hours early and come to the appointment. Before the ultrasound I had blood drawn since they hadn't drawn any blood for me until this point. So 5 or 6 vials were taken. I am ok with seeing needles and blood but they have a hard time finding my veins. So it was attempted on one arm, which was not fun. After about 15 mins struggling to fill 2 vials, another nurse was called and she tried my other arm and got the rest done faster thankfully.

After all that hoopla I went back to the waiting room and Sujeet was already there. My parents came too. We waited about 15-20 minutes and then were called for the ultrasound. First the diagnostic part was done, which took about 15 minutes. We got to see lots of the baby's bones, and the heart, etc. Then the tech let me use the bathroom and get my parents for the gender part. When we went back into the u/s room, she said she hoped she could find the gender because so far it was not looking obvious to her during the diagnostic part of the process.

We were like "Oh no..."but we had prayed that we would see the baby's gender. So I laid back on the table and she started again and within a couple seconds she found the gender. She told my parents they must be good luck, to which my dad answered, "it's not luck, it's because we prayed." :P But the lady kept telling them they were good luck over and over.

Anyway, we were all very happy when we found out it's a boy. Afterward my parents took us out to a yummy Thai restaurant. And then after that, we went home while my parents, Jenny and Rachel went to stores buying tons of cute boy things for us! So it's been a very exciting weekend.

Oh yeah, I am halfway done with the pregnancy now!

Congratulations!!! Wouldn`t it be nice if the boy grew up and became president of the US. May Jesus grant him much wisdom and courage. We are all happy for you and Suj. God bless.
