AOS/Greencard Interview is soon!!!

I am getting nervous about the AOS interview. The appointment is this coming Wednesday at 7am in Tampa. The Tampa office doesn't even open at 7 (grr) ,it opens at 7:30. I am just praying and hoping that we'll be the first ones interviewed that day, and that we will be in and out before 8:30 or 9. That would be great! I don't think I really have a reason to be nervous, but still I am! I just read a couple of AOS interview experiences on visajourney and they freaked me out. I really hope they do not separate us and question us separately about a million things. I feel like they probably won't, and they only seem to do it in certain circumstances, but still you never know. For me it feels so normal, me and Sujeet being married even though he is Indian and I am not, but just because of that fact we could get more questioning than the average "white" couple. Hopefully not though!

So today I am organizing paperwork for the interview. It's really a hassle. I have so much paperwork scattered around and I need to make lots and lots of photocopies before the interview. Also I am not sure if I want to bring the real wedding album(that Jill made for us) or just other regular pictures from the wedding in a smaller photo album. I really don't want to have to take our nice wedding album to the interview.

Another couple just went to their AOS interview in Tampa 3 weeks ago, and they were approved pending the security clearance. 11 months since getting biometrics done, they still hadn't received the full check back yet. So that could happen to us also, since Sujeet got his biometrics done last November 19, exactly 11 months prior to the interview. If we get approved pending the check, that's not a huge issue, but it is definitely an inconvenience. (btw, biometrics=pictures and fingerprints that the gov takes now of visitors and immigrants)

I feel a little stressed out, just looking at the piles of papers that have to be neatly organized before the interview. I can't wait until all this is over with. Which won't be for another 2 years of course...because if Sujeet gets the greencard approval on Wednesday, it is a 2 year conditional greencard. They do this for marriage based adjusting applicants so that if they get divorced during those 2 years, the greencard holder usually will have to go home because of the divorce. So in 2 years, we have to apply again to get Sujeet's conditional status lifted. Then after that, he'd have a regular greencard.

So I'm off to work on all that organizing and figure out what exactly needs to be photocopied. How fun!!! ; )

You and Sujeet will be in my prayers! I knew the interview was coming up, but goodness, didn't think it was quite so soon! Time sure flies!

All the best you two!
