Welcome, February!

"February" is a pretty sounding word for a month, in my opinion. It's also a short month, so it doesn't drag by like other months can. In 2 weeks it's Valentine's day. It will be mine and Sujeet's 2nd Valentine's day together in the same country! It's much better being together than being separated so far!!

Four days after V day, Sujeet will be heading to India. He will be flying out of an airport in Orlando(saved us a couple hundred to fly from Orlando than from Tampa), stopping to change planes at Amsterdam(in Holland/The Netherlands, why on earth does it have 2 names??), and arriving finally at New Delhi. His plane from Orlando to Amsterdam will be MartinAir Holland, and then he will be on KLM (royal dutch airlines). Neither of us have been on this company's planes, but I've heard they're nice rides(?). It would be cool if it's really nice, while it was the cheapest option!

After arriving in New Delhi, he will probably have to take a 9 hour or so train ride to his family's city of Varanasi. My poor husband! He will be traveling on planes for about 20 hrs and then have to probably take a long train ride. Why?, you may ask. A few reasons...first is that to fly all the way to Varanasi from here would have cost hundreds of dollars more and the train ride will cost maybe $30. Also, there is a chance he can get a domestic flight either from New Delhi to Varanasi, or on the way back to New Delhi from Varanasi that would be cheaper than buying it through the international route.

The problem is, every time we check the domestic airlines, the one day he needs the ticket for, tickets are unavailable. So far the only domestic flight option is the fly from Varanasi to New Delhi on the way back here, and only the "executive" seats are available. For an American it's not so expensive for the "executive" seat, it's $135 while the economy would be $95. Still we'd prefer to only have to pay $95. We'll see what happens. It's all so complicated and makes my head spin!!
